South Valley Cement Company was established in 1997 to produce top quality cement and its associated products, as well as a wide range of other premium building materials products such as Ready Mix, beside owning and managing a huge portfolio of diverse multi sector direct and indirect investments

The infinitely growing real estate development around the world and the continuous demand for building materials in the MENA region has encouraged us to participate actively in this business. Egypt being one of the largest countries of the region in size and population, coupled with its abundant resources of raw materials and attractive market has become the center location for our cement business.
During 2006 we awarded the tender to construct the first two phases of our first cement plant to PER-TECH which in turn supplied the equipment by KHD. The designs were made to create a facility with an overall production capacity of 1.6 million tons per year.
On the 8th of January, 2007, a contract was signed with the Arab Swiss Engineering Company (ASEC) to provide all the consultancy services for the erection phase of the production line project. By May the next year a 15 Mega Watt temporary power station came into operation to supply power for the soft opening of the facility.
In May, 2008, Phase I was completed. The Commissioning Stage started along with the sale of bagged and bulk cement produced from clinker. Contracts worth EGP85 million were signed for production covering the next seven months.
